So about 2 fridays ago, i took my cat to a kennel. i was gone for a little over a week. when i picket my cat up, i noticed she was a little different. For one, she is always tired and sleeping when she normally wouldn't be. She dislikes the food she usually eats. I have also noticed that she has gotten a little sick: she sneezes constantly and has puked. Should i take her to the vet?

  1. yes you should and sew the place you left it at for getting your cat sick!

  2. It sounds like a simple upper respiratory infection, which is similar to kennel cough. In fact they are pretty much the same thing. Anyway, it would be best to take your cat to the vet. They will most likely prescribe an antibiotic, usually amoxicillin.

  3. I'm sure you cat has probably just picked up an upper respiratory infection while boarded.  Unfortunately this is common.  The sneezing is a good indicator that that is the issue.  I would take her to your vet.

  4. Could be as mild as a bought of depression or something more serious such as kennel cough. Or worse, some shady kennels have been known to replace animals under their care with a similar animal when thier negligence leads to an unexpected death in an effort to avoid prosecution. I suggest you take her to the vet. And as far-feteched as it may seem that she may have been 'switched' If your animal has a microchip, have it scanned just to be sure it is in fact your cat.

  5. yes! she probably has kennel cough! this is very common at kennels and could be dangerous!

  6. in short, yes. why have you waited 2 weeks??

  7. Yes, please take her to the vet.  She could have picked up an illness at the kennel.

In the future, if it is possible, you might consider having a trusted friend check on her daily while you travel, instead of putting her in a kennel.

We have someone check on our cats while we travel and it has worked out well.

    Best of luck to you.
