so a couple months ago some birds made a nest on our house, and its like a pole that runs across that holds the house together or something, and right under it is the front porch. Me and my mom fought my dad so he wouldn't knock it down, and so they had their baby birds. One of them fell out, and my mom got freaked out and my dad put it back in, and then a day later it fell out again and was dead. The birds told all their other bird friends about the spot, so there were 5 extra bird nests. my dad knocked the new ones down. Now the baby bird has flown away, and the birds are building another nest. My dad is getting wire, and knocking it down for good, because he doesn't want to put up with the dead birds and p**p. What can we do to keep them??

  1. Ask your dad to get a couple of bird house or maybe you can build them and put them up out of harms way.  It sounds like maybe dad needs to put the wire up before any more birds die there.

  2. take it down or call animal abuse police

  3. If you dad knocked down ANY of these nests while they were active (either containing eggs or chicks), he actually broke the law and can be fined or jailed for this as this is against the Migratory  Bird Treaty Act.  If the nests were destroyed when they were just in the building state..I would say this is cruel, but not illegal at this stage.  It might be best NOT to let the birds build there if you parents have no respect for wildlife. As long as he is not destroying active nests, I think it might be best for him to block this area off as you do not want him deciding halfway through that these birds are a pain and have him suddenly killing eggs or baby birds.

  4. you need to collect a bunch of milk cartons and cut out a big hole in the center and hang them along a fins or something.
