Ok So our phone bill was due on the 11th. I mailed it out on the 8th. I lost the return envelope so I just copied the adress that would have been showing through the plastic part onto a regular envelope. Yesterday we got a notice saying it was late and past due. I mailed out another bill the same time it went through already. WOuld me just handwriting out the address have any effect on my bill being mailed, or due you just think it might have been a day late and is taking a day or so to process?

  1. Give yourself or should I say the mail carrier/post office 7 days before the bill is due.

Your bill was due on the 11th and you mailed it 3 days before.  Depending on when the mail leaves YOUR post office that is day 1...then it goes to the sorting post office day 2...then onto the state your bill goes to day 3...then to a sorting post office day 4...then to the address (P.O Bx) day 5...or the building of the office day 5.  Allow for weekends when mail isn't picked up or delivered like normal.

You hand writing the address has nothing to do with it.  Look at the address of the other bill...is it closer to the location you live in?  That would mean it would get there sooner.
