I need help, nowish on setting up my website.?

i have just payed for some microsoft webspace so i can get our website www.wytchstitch.co.uk up and running, how do i upload a document, which i'm creating in microsoft publisher so that it uses that as the website? the website is saved as one *.pub file so that i can open it in publisher, its around 5MB in size, how on earth do i get it to replace the template that's there already?

please, please help.

  1. You'll get no-where if your aiming to use the publisher file as a webpage.

    If you had a control pannel along with your webspace, you will be able to setup FTP. (File Transfer Protocol)

    Next use Google to search for a FTP Client.

    Then type you website as the host

    Username as the user

    Password as the pass

    You will then be able to upload files to your space.

    By the look of your site you have already achived this.


  2. It needs to be created and saved as an HTML document. Your home page or root document needs a name similar to index.html.

  3. You need either a ftp program to upload your webpages to the site or sometimes the site itself has their own web upload ability for use directly on their site (similar to Geocities), the pages should have an .htm or .html extention. I use Leech ftp which is a free but old-ish program, it should still be available to download, you'll also need the ftp settings for your site like username, password & host address - usually upload.yourhostingwebsitename.com/.net or ftp.yourhostingwebsitename.com/.net or something similar.
