I feel stupid but whats the answer to2/3 times 9 and explain how you do it please!

I imagined it to be 2 / 3 and 9 /1 (since 9 is a whole number).. then multiplied tops and bottoms.. 2X9 = 18 and 3 X 1 = 3, so you have 18/3 which 18 divided by 3 is 6, so the answer is 6..

Edit: 2/3 x9/1 = 18/3

2/3 x 9 = 6

1/3 x 9 or 9/3 = 3

2/3 = 6
