lauren practiced piano 30 minutes on monday, 50 minutes on tuesday, 30 minutes on wendsday and didn't practice on thursday. how many minutes does she need to practice on friday to average 30 minutes over the five days?

40 minutes..easiest way is to take 30 x 5 = 180 (which is what you need for the average of the week.

Then take 180 - 110 (which is the sum of the minutes already practiced) = 40.

Cross check it by taking 30+50+30+40 / 5 = 30
