I need 3 assignments done for me in Algebra 1, before 2. By the time my mom gets home. I'm not good in math, and I'm not planning on learning it. I've been so busy with my grandfather and his condition that I've kept on delaying my work.

No rude comments please. I'm a online homeschooling student. And I'm failing with a 48% F.

Can someone trusting e-mail me, or yahoo message me?

My e-mail is princessavero1@yahoo.com.

PLEASE! I need help so Desperatley! Thanks.

  1. I'm not going to give you a rude comment, and I do feel for you - but I am going to give you a real answer.  If you don't plan on learning it, and don't feel like doing the work you *are* going to fail the class.  That's how it works, in school and in life.

What I would really suggest is to talk with your mom when she gets home (after she unwinds from work or whatever).  Explain to her that you honestly don't understand it, that's why you're failing the class.  There are online tutorials, and your school probably has a helpdesk that can help you through the assignment.  If nothing else, a different curriculum could really help you learn the info instead of just trying to get past it.

Your mom needs to find you a resource to help you learn it, rather than expecting you to complete something that you don't understand.  There are resources out there, I promise; I didn't understand algebra for anything in high school, and now that I'm working through my son's curriculum (VideoText Interactive) with him, I understand every word.

Please, talk with your mom and work out a plan, instead of cheating.  There are things in algebra that you will need to know down the line.

  2. You should really take the time to learn it yourself.   You will be able to take what you learn in Algebra 1 with you and it should be much easier to learn Algebra 2 or Calculus.  Try getting a tutor and be honest with your parents and let them know you're having problems learning Algebra and you need some help.  Good luck.

  3. So your just sitting at home answering OTHER people's questions and expect someone else to basically do your homework for you?

  4. Have you tried going back to review the basics? All the way to lesson one if necessary. We have had to do that with one of my kids and now she is really catching on. You don't have to do the whole lesson over, just read it and do some of the problems to make sure you understand. We have been covering about 4 lessons a day and going over or getting help with what she is confused about. You really have to get the basics before it makes any sense. Try this website for extra help as well. www.math.com

    Good Luck!

  5. As I said in my email to you and another question, I am happy to help you learn the content and understand it, but will not just directly do the work for you. Otherwise, when it comes to the exam/test you will not know how to do anything. Do you understand the 8.01 material I sent you?

  6. I'm not doing well either in Algebra. I'm also in a online high school. I got a book from the library that I'm using to help but if I still don't understand it we're going to be looking for a tutor.

My moms best friend has two daughters who have both already done Algebra and are my "friends" well they kinda of make fun of me for not understanding it. My mom told me not to listen to them. It is harder to learn some things in online school because you don't have a teacher to show you how to do the problems. Good luck!

  7. You need to get a tutor...this will solve the problem not put a blanket over it.
