  1. i suppose it would be the same as ducks, and chicks, i used a silver clamp on light,i got from hardware store, put the eggs in a towel, tightly pushed up against them. then you need a magic marker, and put a dot on one side. every day, morning and night turn the eggs over, dot up then dot down. i used a 40 watt light bulb. one site is www.gamebird.com, or type in hatching quail eggs.hope this helps

  2. You could use a styrofoam cooler or thick cardboard box with a simple lightbulb and be sure to add a few holes for ventilation - the eggs need to breathe, especially the last few days as the air cell shrinks as they grow.  If you can elevate them on some sort of screen or wire, that would be best, so the air and heat will distribute evenly around the egg.

You'll need to make sure you have a cup of water for humidity (so they don't stick to the shell and die at hatching) and a good thermometer to monitor the temperatures. Temps need to be at a steady 99.5 degrees and turn them a minimum of 3 times a day. Be sure to always wash your hands first. Bacteria will enter through the shell and could kill your developing embryos.  Good luck!  Some great sites are backyardchickens.com and thatquailplace.com
