I want to get married to my boyfriend of 8 years but he is locked up at the state prison. He wants to get married at the jail but I think that is really GHETTO. He wants to get the process started and get married there and when he comes home have a big wedding. Has anyone every experience this situation before? Does anyone know what I have to do to get married there. I really need help!

  1. Once in prison, the odds of that person going back is pretty high, if that is how you want to live your life than live it but think about you and your future kids . . . kids need a daddy that is around and not locked up!

    Good Luck to you.

  2. Uhhhhhh, if he's in a state prison, your saying that you want to marry him? Girl, you need help! Most men as you should know, go to prison and usually are in and out all their lives OR it's there permanent address. Why? I just don't understand why.

  3. First, I really think you need to reevaluate the whole situation.  Do you think this man will be able to find a job where he can financially support you. Even if you can take care of yourself now, you still need someone who can support you financially if there is ever a need.  Also, do you think his record would prevent you from doing certain things?  Do you think he will be the same person you knew before he was locked up after he get out?  Just reevaluate the whole situation and make sure this is something that you really want to do.

Yes, getting married in prison is GHETTO.  My questions are...what's the purpose?  What's the rush?  Why not wait?  What advantage do you have in marrying him before he get out?  If it doesn't make sense, just wait.

  4. sounds like you are gluten for a punishemtn by wanting to marry this guy

what, if I may so boldly ask, did he do to be in his current situation

  5. why in the world would you do that?  That's a helluva story to share with your grandchildren in 30 years.

  6. you need help for even thinking about marrying a guy in jail. What is he going to do for you when he goes away again? When you have kids, you're gonna bring them to see Daddy and then they can grow up and be just like him.

  7. ummm, i don't think u should. it's a PRISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. When is he coming home? Why is he in prison? How many of the eight years has he been in prison? I agree with Bindy S. Most men who go to prison are in and out their whole lives. I mean it's prison. You know where people go when they really **** up. I tried a jail romance. It didn't work. I would wait until he was out and see how he's doing before you get married. You can't be together until he's out anyway, so what's the point of getting married. He's probably just scared that you leave him and find another man while he's in there. Which you should probably do.

  9. Nobody can help who they fall in love with. If you're serious, and you want to pursue getting married, make it work. If getting married in the prison is what you really want to do, you need to talk to the administrators and the people in charge over him, and then you need to go through the process of getting a marriage license and an officiator. My husband and I got married in a piece of c**p trailor-turned-church, because we really didn't have anything. In a few years, we'll renew our vows, and I'll have the wedding all girls dream of. But my advice is, if you're in love, and you're serious about spending your life together, what does it matter where you get married? You and your hubby-to-be know in your hearts where you stand, and nobody in this world can take that away from you.

  10. That never happen to me before, but I understand. I wish you could explain to me why your boyfriend is in the prison. Thief? Assult?

I have 3 girlfriends' situations were similar to yours.

My good friend Faith's boyfriend was locked up at the prison but he was totally innocent. His mean ex-girlfriend falsely reported him as a rapist. After 5 years, he got out of the prison and Faith and he got married.

My second friend Joy's boyfriend was sent to the prison because he accidently paid money with something I don't understand. He was accused as a credit thief. He was in the jail for 6 months.

Finally, my other friend Lisa's boyfriend was in the jail for DUI.

Today, these couples seem happily together. At first, I thought these guys were scary and untrusted. However, I realized that they are the nice guys!

I hope your boyfriend is not serious as a serial killer or a mad revenger. If he is like that, you should not marry him.

If he made a small mistake that is not a big deal, I am sure your friends will understand that you love him. Nothing can stop you from loving your boyfriend... Good Luck.

  11. really its strange;! but if you really love him you can do whatever he wants

that is okay you will be famous and the first couple who did that1

  12. honestly, if this is a real situation then you are out of your mind.
