Find the slope of a line passing through the points (2,0) and (-4,5)

-5/6

-5/8

5/2

-6/5

Write an equation of a line with a slope of 2/3 and y-intercept of 7. Write the equation in both slope intercept form and standard form.

Choose the equation of the line passing through the points (2,-5) and (4,11).

y = (1/8)x - 21/4

y = 8x - 21

y = 8x - 11

y = 8x + 11

Choose the best description for graphing y = 2x - 3 using the slope and the y-intercept.

Graph the point (0,2) and count down 3 and to the right 1 to find another point on the line.

Graph the point (0,3) and count up 2 and to the left 1 to find another point on the line.

Graph the point (0,-3) and count up 2 and to the right 1 to find another point on the line.

Graph the point (0,-3) and count down 2 and to the right 1 to find another point on the line

Find the y-intercept of the line 4x + 5y = 5.

(0,5)

(0,1)

(0,5/4)

(5/4,0)

Choose the ordered pair that is the solution to the system of equations.

-5y + 4x = 8

-15y + 3x = -3

(3,4/5)

(-3,-4)

(-3,4/3)

(3,0)

Choose the ordered pair that is the solution to the system of equations.

x + y = 4

y = 2x + 1

(2,2)

(3,1)

(0,3)

(1,3) ( I think its this 1)

Choose the best description for graphing the equation y= (1/2)x - 4.

Graph the point (-4,0) and count up 1 and over 2 to the right to find another point on the line.

Graph the point (0,-4) and count up 1 and over 2 to the right to find another point on the line.

Graph the point (0,-4) and count over 2 to the left and up 1 to find another point on the line.

Graph the point (-4,0) and count over 2 to the right and up 1 to find another point on the line.

  1. aw man i had the same prob especcially with slopes i hated them but i got past that unit,best thing to do is ask your math teacher for help, dont be scared or shy because it will help you tremendously in the long run.

  2. man this is easy!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I will show you how to do similiar problems to one of each. But I'm not doing it all for you

    A.

    Find the slope of: (3,2) (1,0)

    Slope is the change in y over the change in x

    (0-2)/(1-3)

    -2/-2

    slope =1

    B. Write the equation of a line with slope 5/6 and y intercept is 3.

    -In slope intercept form: y=mx+b (m= slope b= y intercept)

    y=(5/6)x + 3

    C. Equation of the line passing thru (3,2) (1,0)

    We already found the slope to be 1. So pick one of the points and plug it in:

    2=3*1+b

    -1 = b

    Equation: y=1x -1

    D. Best way to graph y= 1x -1

    Plot the point (0,-1) first (your y-intercept). Then go up one, to the right one. Then go down one, to the left one of your y-intercept.

    E. 3x + 2y =5 Find the y-intercept

    2y= 5 - 3x

    y= -3/2 x + 5/2

    y-intercept is 5/2

    F. To pick the ordered pair that solves both systems (where the two lines intersect) you can just plug in those values and see which one works for both equations.

    G. To graph that last equation, start with your y-intercept. Then your slope, which is 1/2 means you go up 1 to the right 2.
