  1. I left you a response on your other question as well.

You can do better on your SAT by doing a few things. People will say go read this book or go read that book, but that's not the key. The key is practice. So much practice that you have mastered all the types of questions on the SAT. I started off with a 1700 on my first go around. I studied and took a course with kaplan for about 900 bucks. It was total garbage. The sat tutor merely read from a book for about 10 one hour sessions. I didn't improve at all. Eventually, I bought a review book off tutorfox.com for 10 bucks. It was a well written book. I also bought the Princeton Review's sat guide. I used both books and was able to improve my score significantly. I got a score above 2200 and was accepted into UCLA...

  2. Hi,

I think the first step you should take is to calm down. The test is just a test, and while it does prevent you from getting into some colleges, it DOES NOT prevent you from getting into all colleges. So, take a step back, take a breath, and understand that it is a small thing in the scheme of things. Feel a little better? Haha, I hope so!

It seems like you have taken a few good steps in the right direction. The great thing about the SAT is that the test is fundamentally the same thing. That means you don't have to be good at math or English. Instead, you need to be good at the math and English the CB tests. Thusly, the CB book is your boon in terms of preparing for this test. In addition, the Kaplan 2400 is also a good book which targets the harder problems. The other book I recommend is Gruber's which details both math and grammar strategies necessary for success.

In terms of preparing, I recommend taking it in small chunks. You have a little under 3 months, so study daily for 1-2 hours and you should be fine. You should also take an OFFICAL (don't use a Kaplan or PR test) CB Test as a diagnostic test.

Haha, in reality don't worry about it! If you are worried about getting into a school, understand that where you get your undergraduate degree doesn't matter; all that matters is that you have a degree. Have fun and good luck!!

  3. JUST GET SOME GOOD BOOKS SUCH AS THE PRINCETON REVIEW SERIES AND IM SURE YOU WILL DO GOOD BECAUSE U ARE A SMART AND CARING PERSON.

  4. i see why you are worried but at the same time, i dont think you should sweat it cuz if you could speak english like that, you shouldnt have too much of a problem with reading n understanding the words on the SAT.. the one thing, there is an Essay part on the SAT but try your best and try to think of big words.. make sure you dont spend too much time trying to think of big words tho, cuz that will take time off.. no matter wat kinda words you use, just try to get your point out cuz your point is wat matters the most n that they understand wat your trying to say.. i know theres some free online study guides for the SAT, you should consider trying those maybe.. and i'm very sure the kaplan book you have is going to help.. i took a kaplan study course for the SAT and my results were great.. hope i helped n good luck on your SAT!!
