  1. hi amanda, i have the same problem, but i have it 2yrs,every time i go out for a night out or shopping its like i have a big sign on my left toe that says please step or jump on me lol.

least 3 or 4 times a week it happens, I'm in constant pain all the time it bleeds and the nail gets cracked and infected.

go to the doctor he will give you cream and maybe take half of the nail away, which they freeze it first.which is the best option then you will be fine.good luck x

  2. happened to me in second grade, but it grew back, i wouldnt suggest walking as much or running

  3. please, see a general surgeon, who will remove it surgically

and there is every chance of regrowth after surgery. don't take the risk of travelling without surgical iterference.

or let it be cleaned and dressed to seek surgical help on landing @ Colorado.

  4. the same thing happened to my aunt when she hurt her toe, she went to the doctor and they ripped it off for her, cleaned it up and put a bandage on it to avoid infection...u might not wanna take that hiking trip still tho

  5. something similar happened to my finger nail i got torn off all the way to the cuticle but was still semi attached. i recommend going to the doctor in your case they will probably numb your toe and take the nail completely off. they will give you some antibiotics and have you soak it it warm water and epsom salt for a few minutes for about a week to prevent infection. they probably wont want to to run or go on the hiking trip however. but its better to get your toe looked at before it gets worse or infected. and dint worry the nail does grow back.
