  1. You. Are. Adorable.

  2. Why don't you start off taking a securities course and see how much it interests you?  Or take economics, that'll give you the basics.

You're too young to have made a "wrong step".  Life isn't about a straight line to the goal, it's got lots of twists and curves... you've just taken a bit of a turn.  Life is about learning and growing and it sounds like that's what you're doing since your interests are changing.  I think they say people change careers on average 6 times in their life.  If you just have a change of academic interest, that's fine.  Better to know now than after you've been an Engineer for 10 years.

Go after what you want and be flexible enough to change your course if you discover it looks like a better direction!

  3. Hi! I can understand how you feel but that's not the end of the world. Everybody in certain part of their life will more or less make wrong chocies and decisions but the most important thing is self-realisation as early as possible or otherwise you will have to either live with it or abandon it for good but you'll have to weigh the pros & cons before embarking on anything as it is never wise doing things impulsively. Whether or not you can make an U-turn in your situation depends on how far you have been and aside from that, you will have to weigh on the financial aspect too to see if you can afford to change your track. If not, then you may have to look on the positive side of the course you are studying now and bend on on the way till you graduate from it and then go for the course which you are really interested in. But, if you can afford to abandon the present course, then go ahead and make your change. In fact, it would be better if you could discuss openly with your parents or the person who supported you to let them understand what's your concern and seek their support. However, if you are your own decision-maker and a self-supporter  then things would be alot more easier for you. Well, it's good to be future conscious and to set goals properly. This is applausible. In reality, it's a matter of choice and you should be the one deciding for yourself because your are the "driver" of your own life. Prepare a few sets of plan for your future so that in case if one doesn't work out, you can proceed to another because thinking and doing may not be the same and things may not always turn out to be what we thought it should be. Have alternative set of plans, eg...Plan A...Plan B..Plan C....so on and so forth. If you really know what you want and pursue it all the way, you will be drawn nearer and nearer to SUCCESS! Good Luck to you! Just a little sharing.....

  4. All is not lost with a Degree in electrical engineering!

You can work as a sales engineer, and alot of the fun is meeting up with customer and talking about projects.

Your day time job will offer you the financial means to engage in your interest. At night, you can still pick your interest in commodities, bonds and shares.

  5. One step at a time, complete and pass your degree in Electrical. Then, look for a suitable career you are interested. You have many engineering graduates selling insurances, share brokers and even in politics. A degree in any courses is important to act as a stepping stone to your future regardless of what you work as. Hope my advise is useful to you.

  6. slow down, man! ... Your degree is the key to doors out there, one step at a time. There isn't one who hates to be rich but get your perspectives right. You're bringing unnecessary frustrations into your life. With your energy level, get a part time job in the night forex or commodities trade market. Stay in school.
