I am so confused about this. If I need to ride subways in Seoul for 4 days, which one should I buy?

Can I buy the pass at the Incheon Airport when I arrive? I just don’t want to keep buying a ticket everytime I have to ride a subway.

• Metro Pass (정기권), a monthly pass for the Seoul and Incheon subway systems available at stations.

• Seoul Citypass, a one-day transportation card incorporating the Seoul City Tour Bus ticket and limited use of the metropolitan transportation system.

• Seoul Citypass Plus is an upgraded type of Seoul Citypass. This card is rechargeable, and sells discount cards.

• Mobile T-money, IC chip which work with cell phone seviced by SK Telecom and KTF. This chip can be used as USIM chip.

  1. Yeah you should buy a pass card.  You should be able to see the passcards at every stop in Seoul.  You can buy from 5 dollar cards to 10 dollars.  Actually you can put any amount of cash on the card you like.  You just give the cash and they sort of "charge it up"

Often the subway schedules may be posted somewhere in the station.  They usually come quite often.  So I never bothered looking it up before.  I'm sure it's there if you look.

And the subway pass is good for the bus too.

    Have fun!! :)

  2. Virtually everyone just uses the T-money cards or pays cash.  T-money saves you a little bit overall and is the only way to get a discount when making transfers between train and bus (or vice versa).

I don't believe there are true schedules kept, but trains run very frequently.  The longest I've ever waited for a train was maybe 10 minutes tops.

  3. when i went to seoul...i was there for 4/5 days...i used the mobile T-money. it works with subways, and all buses.

it was fast and convenient to use. each time you get to the subway, you just scan it and you're on you way...and if i used up all the amount of my card, it was quick and easy to recharge. i bought the card at the subway..but i think you can buy it at the airport as well..

    have fun!
