ok, Like if the engin light comes on and you find out it is multiple miss fires , and th plugs ar changed , But the code will not reset , But they say it is fixed , How can they tell , Bcause th car still eats gas and idles rough, it is a 06 with only 19000 on it , it has been recalled for several things , and they never fix all of it when i take it in. the plugs are more then burnt, they have a reddish rust to them,

Any advice?

  1. It's possible that someone replaced the timing belt and got it a tooth or two out of time. Demand results or a refund. If that fails, see your local district attorney.

  2. Take it back to the stealership and demand to talk to the general manager.

You don't say what brand it is. I know many of the car makers have their own numbers you can call if you have problems with new cars. I just dealt with Honda of America with great success.

  3. The misfire has to be caused by one of three things:ignition, fuel, or compression. That being said alot of things can create these situations. If the problem is intermittent usually its a weak spark or the engine is leaned out. A crankshaft position sensor thats failing can even give you a misfire code.  You could have a bad injector, plug wire, or coil if you have a coil over plug type system. You need to get it to a shop that can hook it up to an anylizer and check it real time with the problem occuring.

  4. it sounds like you just need a good mechanic. i say find a new one and keep the car
