  1. Foster care foster care foster care!!!

  2. I dont know but If thats your real picture I am available to help if they dont look too good on you being a single parent.

I think also you are doing a wonderful thing for someone who may be less priveledged than you.

  3. There are several options, including foster care. You could also contact a private, non-profit agency in your state, or an adoption lawyer. There are also many agencies you can find on-line.

However, in most cases when dealing with older children you will end up working directly with the state.

Wow - people here have serious problems (and rather clear agendas!) if they thought my answer to the question was deserving of a thumbs down. I guess they don't want to hear from an adoptee. Strange.

  4. Please go to the foster care system within your own state.

  5. Hi my name is Shane i was brought up in foster care and children homes throughout my whole childhood from the age of 1 i am now 31 with my own family.

Firstly why do you want to adopt,

What can you offer and why this particular child.

Main requirment is LOVE AND STABILITY, can you honestly love a child as your own and not look at this child and say oh he/she is not mine. Children are innocent and unaware and frightened I WAS pillar to post sometimes loved sometimes not. A stable home with love cuddles assurance and saftey knowing that you are mummy is important. Not just the woman who took me in. I am not judging you far from it but see this from a childs mind. Adoption is great Foster care is great, when the right family has come along. I think adoption is wonderful, to give a child a home a real home not just a stop gap. I had many foster familys and it really hurts when you get moved and has a detremental effect on your mental health you think everything is great and get shipped out to someone else. (think i had DHL label on my forehead) Gd luck in what you decide and thank you for asking this question i hope whatever you decide to do you will be happy xx

  6. Best way to phone social services and ask for appropriate department.  Get an appointment.  Look deep deep inside yourself and ask if this is something you can commit to for life.  Unconditional love is required for this child no matter what happens along the way.

  7. I'd check out with your local government departments that handle foster care - as many of the children have been released for adoption. (ie parental rights have been taken away from their parents)

You'll most likely have to go through checks and house inspections.

I fully support adoption from foster care. As there are over 130,000 children currently in the US foster care system.

I also fully support open records for all adoptees.

And an end to secrecy and lies in adoption.

I wish you all the best.

  8. idk but just wait

  9. You need to contact your local Social Services Adoption team for advice. They will generally come to see you for a chat first and then probably put you on a "training course" and start your assessment. Your income isn't that relevant. They are looking at finding good parents and generally ones who have a good support system. You would be CRB checked and have a medical. It can take quite a while, can be quite emotional - but boy is it worth it! Hard Work but great!

  10. have a look on your local council web site there should be a link there. you don't have to be married. i know were we are they want people for the age you are looking for also for brothers and sisters to say together. good luck we are also looking to adopt i have 3 grown up kids but my partners twins died at birth and we would like to offer some child a proper family life

  11. Contact your local Dept of Human Services, Children & Youth Division to inquire about foster/adopt programs.  There are many children in foster care who need loving, safe families.

    Good luck to you.
