I need help about flood ins, We do not live in a so called flood (zone)?

So when perching home owners insurance didn't get it , but after a pipe broke under my house I was not covered. They should explained, the difference about water damage right now 3500$ out of pocket , so far !I urge you all to check you policy OK ! does any one know a possible recourse I could take?

  1. Flood insurance will not pay for water damage due to broken plumbing.  That should be covered under your homeowner's insurance.  Federal flood insurance is to protect against actual floods caused by overflow of rivers and water bodies.


  2. The pipe broke?  If so, you should be covered.  Remember that insurance carriers do not make money paying claims.  Call and ask for supervisor, if they still deny coverage get it in writing and then hire a public adjuster.

  3. Homeowners insurance DOES cover water damage caused by a SUDDEN plumbing leak.

    It MIGHT cover damage caused by water that backs up through a drain.

    It DOES NOT cover the cost of repairing the pipe.
