I need help and fast? What do l do (child suppot court)?

l got a letter today in the mail about court on Thursday, l was never served all I got was this letter , l have school and work on thursday and l can not miss , the hearing is just for my X to turn himself in for failing to pay months of child support which l bet he will be a no show, so what would happen if l don't show up bc l really need to be in my college algebra class...if l miss 1 day l will be lost as h**l....what should I do...thanks for your time....

  1. It sounds as if you need to be at the court hearing, whether he shows or not.  You have to show that you are the responsible one.

    If I were you I would either call someone from the class to see if they can either record the class for you (on a tape recorder) or take as many notes as possible.  If this isn't an option then I would call or go see my professor before or after court and explain what happened.  Explain that you had to prove to be the responsible parent (even if you tell them you are trying to get full custody or something to make it sound dramatic).  If it helps, ask them if you can stay after one of the classes to brush up on what you missed.
