I need help asking my mom a question?

I am 14 and have not started shaving my legs. I have always been shy about asking my mom those sort of questions. It is really embarrassing to wear a bathing suit and shorts. Please help me so I can ask my mom with confidence.

I had this same problem!

It's very simple, and you shouldn't be embarassed by it.

I was very embarassed too but one day I was wearing shorts(even thought I didn't want to, but I did it on purpose) and I kept rubbing my legs and my mom could tell it was bothering me. So, me and my mom were talking and I brought up when she started shaving.she told me when and how her mom bought her a special razor.I followed along and suggested doing the same for me.I was afriad she would disapprove but she said, "Ok, if you feel you're ready".You may feel embarassed at first, but once you get it done, you'll feel proud of yourself.

That is the least embarassing of questions of which you will ask her in your lifetime.  You just need to ask her when she started shaving her legs.  Ask her if her mother taught her and maybe if she would like to teach you.

Just tell her that your are getting older and u think u wanna start shaving your legs and then ask her to show u how.

Your mom is probably waiting for you to bring it up. She will be thrilled to help and explain how and what to do!

Keeping good communication with your mom is the way to go. Just sit with her and start talking about things, and ask her when she started shaving her legs. Explain that you would like to do it to and you think your ready. Keep her involved, she will be happy with you!

If your dad and his girlfriend are willing to show you and help you i think that is wonderful! I have always been closer with my dad. Actually when i started my period i went to my dad, my mom and i were never close. He was amazing in helping me.

Sometimes dad's can help us a great deal! If your close with you father, talk to him. I bet they would be honored to help you!

Just tell her you think that your old enough to start shaving your legs, i didn't ask mine, i just started and she never said anything about it, but i would advise you to ask first, thats the better thing to do!!! Hope this helped

i am very close to my mom but i always had this awkwardd feeling with my parents. like, i could NEVER talk to them about puberty, boys, secrets or friends and stuff. I totally can relate. i remember when i was 12, i would use my mom's razor blade and shave when i shower. she never knew. 1 day i gathered enough courage to  ask her whether my legs looked better and then she said " Yah! Have you been shaving your legs?" I was like, yes! i did! and she started to show me all the good brands of blades and moisturisers. LOL

i remember being shy about asking my mom. when i asked mine, i just said...can i maybe start shaving my legs? a lot of girls my age do. hoep this helps, and the conversation with your mom will be over by a minute.

Im sure your mom wont mind you asking!! I know how scary and uncomfortable it can be to ask your mom things like that for the first time, but once I started asking my mom it became easier for me. Just ask her if she would mind if you started shaving your legs, Im sure she will be fine with the question.

Ughh that dreaded day eh?

I never even told my Mom. I just went ahead and did it. She didn't find out until there was left over shaving cream on the side of the tub after I got out lol.

What I was doing at first was trying to make my Mom notice my hairy legs (haha) and see if she would say something about them. Either she didn't notice or she was just as embarrased as I was. You could try that. Or if you have a sister or other close female relative, you could get her to mention it to your Mom. If you feel akward around a relative/close friend just be like.."LOOK AT THESE LEGS! MOM DOESN'T EVEN REALIZE I NEED TO SHAVE THEM!" That will get the ball rolling lol.

Oh I feel the same way with my grandma!

When I wanted to shave my legs I actually had my friend with me.

but when I had my first period I had to tell her myself.

but what you can do is say "Mom im 14,and i'd like to start shaving my legs,When I wear a bathing suit it's embarassing to have hair on my legs,maybe we can go to the store and buy the electric razors so we won't have to worry about cutting my legs either"

your mom was 14 once she'll totally understand.
