I need help buying a new snowboard.?

now im looking into buying a ride board more than anything beacuse i like my ride board, but since now that im 6ft 2 not 5ft 9 the board isnt the best anymore. so what kind of board should and how high? im looking for a 165 but only wide boards are that big, whats the difference between the two?

I'd get a 156-160. Unless your riding backcountry i wouldnt go over 160. I would suggest a Skate Banana( I just got one), the K2 WWW or Believer, or the Ride DH.

Height doesn't matter for board size. It's mostly about weight so if you haven't gained or lost any weight since your growth the board should still be fine.

A wide board is for someone who has size 11 or higher snowboarding boot size. The board is wider so there isn't any toe drag. By the sounds of it a 165 is big for you unless it's a big mountain only board.

You should only need a new board if you have put on weight - size depends on weight, riding style and experience. You didn't give enough info for me to help you.

I used to have a Ride Control (narrow board) and have size 10.5 feet - my heels and toes used to hang over about 1/2" each but as I got better I noticed that my board would skip out sometimes. Last year I got a Ride Fleetwood (wide) and it is only a little wider but it really keeps the toes from dragging and has GREAT float in the powder.

Okay well what you want to do it go to your local snowboard shop and check out the boards yourself in person. You want to hold the board up to you and if it comes up to about your chin then its the perfect size. They you also want to check out the rating on the board depending on what your going to do.
