I need help calculating the faradys of electricity involved in each of the following....?

a. 0.500 mol of Br2 are converted to Br-

b. 2.0L of O2 at STP are converted to H2O in acid solution.

any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

  1. Faraday = charge on 1 mol of electrons.

    a) Br2, thus, two Br radicals need one electron to become Br-. So it takes 1 faraday to make 1/2 a mol of Br-.

    b) 2.0L of O2 corresponds to some number of mols (44.8???). Pretty sure one mol of O2 takes 4 electrons to become 2 mols of water. You can do the conversion from there.
