I need help capturing footage..?

i need to capture my footage on to my moms macbook from a video camcorder i rented from my school its a canon mini DV ZR600 yeah it came with a USB cord but i need a firewire cord its so stupid that it doesn't come with one and i dunno if i can rent one from school because my mom wont let me take her macbook to school and i really do not want to pay $30 sum dollars to buy one ... any ideas?

  1. If the camera has both firewire and USB cables, then you can use either.

    Mine does that, and it's a JVC.

    Just read the manual, it should tell you. If you can't find it, go to their website and download it.


  2. You need a firewire cable for final cut or imovie. Buy one from WalMart, and return it. They take everything back. Just keep the receipt and tell them you don't need it. If not, sneak one from the editing lab at your school.
