I need help catching a magnemite in pokemon diamond ?

I know u have to catch in fugo but hes not there and do you have to beat the game in order to find him because i tried to talk to the little sister she didnt say anything. Any help anyone!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed, you must first defeat the Elite Four and have gotten your Pokédex updated to the National Dex in order to find Magnemite.

Also, if you have a Pokémon with the ability Static in front of your party, it will increase the chances of running into Electric-type Pokémon.

beat the elite four and then i think you need to finish your pokedex and get a poke rader from prof oak in the pal park. go to fugo ironworks when lucas sister say that there is a bunch of magnemite there... anyway use you pokerader in the patch of grass and go to the patch that lights up the most because the chance of a magnemite is greater there. i hope this helped!!! Beat the elite Four then you have to catch him in swarms, the little sister changes her swarm response everyday, change your time in the DS so it will change. There is a little trick to this so experiment until you get the Magnemite swarm.
