I need help choosing between two different dogs for a book?

I am writing a thick chapter book for teens or preteens and my main character luna needs a dog im torn between a Czechoslovakian wolfdog and a blue merle australian shepherd my main character is connected with the moon and very athletic and curious i need a dog to match thanx!!!!

i would go with the blue shepherd

I would go with the wolfdog because everyone connects wolves with the moon (the howling thing). It seems more appropriate.

Go with the aussie.  Very well known dog to people and they are also quite the athlete.
