Ok, so I have 2 components in the front (120 W RMS), 2 Coaxials in the middle rear (110 W RMS), and 2 small coaxials in the far rear above the 3rd row seats (85 W RMS)....

I currently have them ALL hooked up to a 4-Channel, yes, 4-Channel amp giving out 85 W RMS at 4-Ohms when hooked up to 4-Channels....

BUT....

I have a spare amp not being used, giving out 220 W RMS @ 2-Channel, 4-Ohms....

How could I connect that spare amp to be able to power all my speakers correctly?

I already have one 4-Channel connected to all 6 speakers, but I still have another one in my room not being used....

Just in case you want to know, the one being used is a Hifonics 6406, and the one in my room is a Hifonics 4406....maybe you can check out the specs to be able to help me out better....

ANY HELP OR ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT!!!

  1. The problem with this is your going to have to run another power and ground and either bridge to the 2 channel or run another RCA.  So think about that first off because you may not even want to add the 2 channel.  But you would get the remote RCA Ground and Power and then just run the speaker wire from what ever 2 doors to the amp.

  2. Do you really NEED another amp?

If what you have now sounds good, I say leave it that way.

No sense connecting another amp just 'cuz you have one laying around - that's extra current draw on your vehicles electrical system.

If it doesn't sound good, or if you still want to connect that amp anyways, then you'll need:

a distribution block (to create two power and two ground connections)

More power wire and more ground wire (just a couple feet)

RCA 'Y' adapters (1 female end, two male ends)

2 short lengths of RCA cable

A splice into your remote cable

It would probably be best to leave the 4 front speakers connected to the amp that's already installed. Have the front speakers installed as front speakers and the rear speakers installed as rear speakers - as far as the signal from the head unit is concerned.

For the speakers above the 3rd row, connect those to the second amp, and use the RCA 'Y' adapters to split the RCA signal for the 'rear speakers' , and then the short lengths of RCA cables to connect to the actual amps

Use the distribution block to split the power and ground connections, and the extra power and ground wire to connect to the amps. Splice the remote wire so that it can connect to both amps as well - then you're done.
