Currently, my room is a horrible shade of purple. I would like to do something very different, and have been thinking about doing two walls one color and the other two a different one. Thing is, I have no idea, since I am not very good in the area of design. What two colors would match best? I have wood furniture that is a dark brown color. I've also been thinking about painting the ceiling (not white), but really dont want to overdo it; I dont want it to look like a crayola box. Thanks for any suggestions!

  1. If you do the 2 walls one color and the other two another... try using the same color, different shades. For example, 2 walls light blue and the other two a darker blue. It adds style without overdoing it. As for the ceiling, I'd keep it white and get a nice chandelier. You can also highlight some colors with accent pillows, lamps, and picture frames.

  2. use the color wheel.

ex: if you like blue, look across the wheel and see what color is compatible.

then, simply find a color you like in that region :]

like, purple & yellow; blue & orange; red & green etc etc.

  3. Well definetly don't do 2 bright colors. It is really hard to choose two colors when doing something like that. It will get old and may look to bright. You could do a pattern wall. With diamonds, stripes, hearts. You could do white with huge bright polka dots everywhere. Then your fabricks could be solids of those colors. You could do a bright wall paper on one wall and the other walls in one of the colors. If you are really set on the two colors thing. I don't really know what your style is. If it were me. I would do a light tourquoise and a pale pink. But I don't know if that is you. So go to the fabrick store a pick out a fabrick that just jumps out at you. You must adore everything about it. Then pick two colors from that. It may be striped. Pick colors from stripes next to eachother because these colors will go together. Unlike stripes farther apart. Then take this fabrick and put it in a frame as art.

    Hope I helped!!

  4. choose a color that will ease your eyes wut i mean by that is make ur eyes relaxed and not like have a headache cuz bright bright colors may give ur eyes a headache

  5. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think it would look great to paint one wall in your room "wheat penny" (# 7705) - either the wall behind your bed or the wall opposite the bedroom door. Then paint the rest of the walls "threnchcoat" (# 7152) from their SoftSuede collection. And paint the ceiling "softer tan" (# 6141).

You can also take a photo of your room & upload it to the makeover gallery on Roomvues dot com:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  6. go to home depot or lowes and stand in front of the paint chips. it's like looking at a rainbow. you WILL be drawn to certain hues! that's a sign that you naturally gravitate towards those colors mentally and emotionally! ......once you find a chip you like, try to see if the chip comes in supersize, usually about 18 inches square and at a cost of about 4 dollars as opposed to free (but better in helping you imagine what the color will look like on your walls so it's worth the 4 dollars)

  7. Depends, wats ur style are u a girl or boy, wats really a hot idea is to paint ur room hot pink and black, but since u hav brown furni, u should probably do liek a creamy orange color, and a light light pink, wat ever ur style is go wit it
