Question:

I need help deleting Security Toolbar 7.1!?

I know that it's a bad thing to have, and I have no idea how it got on my computer.

It's hijacked my homepage, and I get pop-ups that tell me about malware threats, backdoor trojan, etc. And I know it's not real.

I've looked at other answers on here, but all of the spysweepers that I've downloaded only sweep the computer, and not delete the infected files.

I would really appreciate some advice on free spyware removal (getting rid of those pop-ups and the Security Toolbar 7.1)

Thanks!

  1. Security Toolbar 7.1 is the Internet Explorer toolbar (Browser Helper Object) designed to provide targetet advertisment, while you surf the Web. Security Toolbar may also generate false positives to scare users and trick to download rogue anti-spyware programs. This program can open Windows security backdoors and download other spyware. Remember to backup your regitry before removing Security Toolbar manually.

  2. For Windows users, Click Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs,

Then you'll find many programs running on your computer, find the security toolbar... Then uninstall...

If is not there, It came from a software you installed for security purposes.. So you would have to uninstall and install again.. Then uncheck the box with the security toolbar and you wont have it...
