I need help downloading my sims 2 game?

When I put in my sims 2 apartment life disk, nothing pops up on my desktop like it did with all my other sims games. Nothing loads and the downloading wizard doesnt pop up either. I have no clue what to do or why it is acting this way. My sister has it too for Vista and it works just fine, and I tried it on another XP system and it works. HELP!!!!!

Thats wierd, I wonder why it won't work. Have you tried shutting down your computer? And mabey keeping it shut down for a while.Because if you always have it on thats bad for your computer cause its system could over heat and shut down and not work. So try that or you can always write to the sims2 people go to this website.

The exact same thing happened to mine. It is because you need a DVD-Rom drive. I'm pretty angry about it, because they don't offer a normal cd-rom version of this game. I am just going to buy a dvd-rom drive, because that's the only way to get it to work. The cheapest price I've found is 22.50 that meets the requirements. Before you buy a drive though (if that's what you choose to do), you need to make sure it meets the system requirements. This can be done at www.thesims2.com/apartmentlife
