I need help. eating disorder?

okay my girlfriend thinks she is overweight and wants to loose some. and the way she thinks is the way is to eat like nothing a day, shes going like 2 weeks at a time with just eating some toast or a granola bar a day, she doesn't seem to think there is anything wrong with this. i tired to explain to her that she just cant do that its not good for her but she doesn't care........can someone please like just make a list of all the bad side effects of what not eating can do to you so i can show her and make her change her mind?

  1. well one side effect is that she could DIE. if she doesn't eat or like nothing but toast its bad for her body. like when she does deiced to eat it could also kill her. like if she eats something like chocolate now it could really mess up her stomach. and no ones wants to look like a skeleton. i understand that your upset and maybe a little scared. your girlfriend should see a therapist or like talk to someone about her weight and see a doctor to help her dieting. you said sometimes she goes for two weeks at a time eating very little so I'm assuming that shes been doing this for awhile. I'm also assuming she lost weight. so i think she should see about gaining some if shes under weight. and  she might need to gain some. if you ever need help just send me a meassage.    


  2. i went through really bad anxiety...was sick for months with an eating disorder i didn't even know i had. let me tell you...i never wanna feel like that again. without eating you become so sick! i prob should have been in the hospital but somehow i started eating again. i started changing my attitude towards food and got in a semi comfortable eating habit. im still not fully better but its def a lot better then it was. it's not worth it. it ruins your body and it's so wrong. tell her to eat healthy and take care of herself while shes growing. don't worry about weight and that baby garbage...she needs to grow up and snap out of this. you don't have to be cool to have people around you. i was never cool...and when i started taking care of myself...little belly fat or not...i was loved. i have people around me that love me for who i am. i changed and so did the people around me. weight size etc doesn't matter. if the person loves u...they love you. it took me a long time to realize that. hopefully i helped...good luck.  

  3. tell her that she needs to change her eating habits to HEALTHY ones for life and not just some crash diet until she loses weight....I used to have bulimia when I was younger, but now I maintain a healthy size 8 by just eating healthily, there is NO NEED to starve urself....if she refuses to change, then she at least needs to take some vitamins and eat some fruit and also take something like "Benefibre" and she will be setting her self up for piles and constipation....does she know this? if you eat that little, you WILL get constipated and you WILL get piles....so get her to at least take benefibre, or somekind of fibre product, as I know girls can be very very stubborn when it comes to losing weight,, but at least by doing this, she wont be risking some of the worst health problems.   4. yikes!

    1) it SLOWS your metabolism to a crawl.  you're body starts going, "hey we're not getting any food" and just shuts down and uses less calories for everyday stuff

    2) kills your teeth (and not to mention the bad breath) as your body breaks down muscle to fuel itself.

    3) it's bad for your hair and skin.  the hair will start to fall out, slowly at first, but that will surely speed up.  your skin starts looking gray and ashy because it's not getting the essential nutrients it needs.

    4) you will become constipated as your bowels don't get a "regular workout" (if you know what I mean).

    5) depression could set in as your brain is not getting what it needs to stay balanced.

    I could go on and on.  Your girl needs to eat regular meals and snacks and start an exercise program.  this is the only thing for long-term health, maintaining a healthy weight, and feeling good.


  5. Her body will literally consume itself on that type of diet. It is going to go into starvation mode and if she is not eating enough calories her body will start eating her fat , then her muscle and then it will cause harm to her organs and even her brain. She can even pass out on that type of diet from low blood sugar and low blood pressure. It has happen to me. I use to be anorexic unfortunately and let me tell you , she is going down a very sad and depressing road. It really isn't worth it.

  6. well by not eating- your body goes into starvation mode and will store every little thing she eats as fat- actually causing the opposite effect she wnats-   she will end up gaining weight instead of losing it.  However if she doesnt get enough nutrition either- her body organs will begin to shut down and eventually she would die.. this is a very serious issue- she needs professional help!
