I have a yard full of different kinds of trees and there are a couple that I can't figure out what they are. I have one that may be a Catalpa tree but it doesn't have any flowers on it. The leaf is very large (10" long and 8"wide) and heart shaped and is kinda furry on the back. It also has long seed pods hanging on it. The one I picked was 16" long. It was still very green and didn't have any seeds in it, but maybe that would have come later. I would post a picture, but I'm not sure how to do that. I am not computer savvy...lol. Anyway, if anyone may have an idea, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

  1. It does indeed sound like a Catalpa tree. Check the following site for identification (with pictures). There are male and female Catalpa trees (if my memory serves me correctly). Maybe yours is a male. Also, those catalpa worms that get on them every year are valued as catfish bait by fishermen. I don`t know if it`s true, but i`ve always heard the worms will only get on a female tree. I do know there are Catalpa trees they wont get on!
