A friend of mine had a baby shower last week and I talked to her today and only 2 people showed up, I feel really bad for her because its her first child and she doesn't have a whole lot yet and she is due in 3 weeks. ( she was hoping on getting what she needed at the shower)

She lives in another state that's why I wasn't at the shower, So I am sending her a baby gift but I don't know what all to get her.

So far I got her the Dr. Browns starter kit with 5 bottles in it, some baby clothes, bibs, and blanket.

What else do you think i should get her?

  1. i say go with the biggest gift card you can to go with what you already have and if she doesn't have a car seat, she will have  to have one to bring baby home....just something to think about...gl

  2. nappies, you go through so many, and every baby needs them. and they are not cheap. or cloth nappies if she decides to use them instead os disposable nappies

  3. What you have got her is fine and you can ship that to her and you can also get her a Gift Card from like Walmart or Target so she can get what ever else she may need.

  4. Gift card maybe? I know it sounds plain and simple, but that way if she needs anything she can get it.  A bathtime set for the baby with shampoo/body wash and things like that, I know Johnson and Johnson makes some nice ones.  A baby medicine kit that has the tylenol, gas drops and everything like that in it (never got one of those and sure wish I did).  If your willing to spend a bit more money a nice mobile if she does not have one.  My daughter has a Fisher Price Rainforest one and loves it.  Nightlights are a good thing to for the babies room.  Maybe a few teething toys, and small toys.  Baby wash clothes and towels are a good thing.

*Gerber sells packs of cloth diapers that work great for spit up/birp rags.  The ones with the prefolds are the best, and they come in handy.*

  5. a gift card with a note that says "spend it the way you want to!"... this is the best gift ever... you already have lots of stuff that she will need, so this is a good idea...

receiving blankets, a sterilizer or pacifiers.... also good idea

  6. A pack of diapers and wipes.

  7. recieving blankets, because moms can never have enough of those... and diapers, wipes, bum cream.  We go through those sooooo fast!  Maybe some baby towels and johnsons bath soap.  You are really thoughtful!  Sending her a gift so far!

  8. receiving blankets, and or maybe a target or walmart gift certificate. that way she can get some of the things that she really needs.

  9. Diapers

    wipes

    baby shampoo

    Bottle brush

And If  she is going to try breastfeeding you can do

    breast pads

    lanolin for sore nipples
