I don't know whether there is a biography of Johann Gutenberg of printing fame, but I doubt that anyone has done more to help other cultures learn about their own culture. He provided the means of disseminating it, as he did for The Bible.

Charles Dickens-his literature was translated to 20 different languages. His literature is part of the criteria in English, French, Arabic and Spanish Literature majors. He wrote "The tales of two cities", "Christmas Carol", and "Great Expectations" which was made into a movie in the late 1990's.
