I need help finding a book name?

I read this book a couple years ago in school. I think it's about this girl whos name is Green, and one day her family goes to the market in the city and there's a nuclear explosion or something that kills off everything and everyone around her. Later on I remember a boy that couldn't speak came and went and by the end vegetation was sprouting out from under the rubble and ashes.
