There's a book that i read in junior high that i am now looking for again. It takes place in New York during the Great Depression. It follows a young boy and his parents as they are kicked out of there home, his father goes away to find work, his mother opens their home to a southern man who has come up from the south looking for work. i can't remember what it's called or anything more about it. i've tried some searches on library databases and keep coming up empty. i know it's not a lot to go on, but if anyone knows any books that sound similar to that if you could help me out, i really liked it and very much want to read it again.
