Hello I'm home schooled and my parents and I are having a hard time find a good home school curriculum . We have looked at many sites and found one , but was not impressed by what they offer . I'll help narrow down your search if your willing to help me . It's got to be a Christian curriculum , and gives a diploma , credits , and advance courses . If your home schooled or a home schooled parent then you no what to look for . I'm just writing to those that just want to help and no nothing or little about home schooling ? And by the way im in high school to . Very important one . Ha !

Thanks for your time

  1. The good thing about homeschooling is you can take whatever curriculum you like to use as a foundation/ backbone, then tailor it according to your needs. For example, I'm intending to use "The Well Trained Mind" as a basis (google it.) However, the authors are American, so I'll be scrapping some off their history in favour of more Australian stuff. Unsurprisingly, I don't think it's neccessary for my little Aussie daughter to be able to recite the American constitution.

You can add Christian elements into any curriculum you choose, so don't discount non-Christian curriculums purely because they aren't Christian.

I haven't really answered your question, I know, but I hope I've contributed something for you to consider. :)

  2. I use A Beka. You can go to Abeka.com and look around the site. You can also get a scope and sequence.

  3. Some expatriate friends of ours use NorthStar Academy for their high school daughter.  They like it:

    http://www.northstar-academy.org/

  4. try A.C.E. it stands for Accelerated Christian Education. I did this & graduated when I was 15 my older sister graduated 2 years early too. It gives credits, diploma, & etc.  You do paces so you end up teaching yourself so you don't really need someone to be there the whole time you're doing work just if you need help & to score your test. They also go by School of Tomorrow sometimes they're based in Dallas, Texas you order the work from them & they'll ship it to you.

  5. swited on schoolhouse! its great! but it is on the computer

  6. go to

    www.faith.aca.org

It's called faith academy it's a fully acreddited school.

    With sat's tutors,colledge prep classes, diploma's graduation..

    Basically the works.

So jus go on the site and see if it'z n-e help :)

  7. I'm homeschooled and I'm using CLE (Christian Light Education) They have credits and diplomas and many students have graduated from their program and gone to colleges and universities all over the world! The website is cle.org or cle.com

  8. Go with Abecka. It's a credited program and when you graduate, you go to PCC for a ceremony. If you're looking for math though... You should definately go with Teaching Text-books. They're GREAT. They go step by step on EVERYTHING and they have the lessons on DVD so that you can go back over and over again until you GET IT! I met the two guys who wrote created it and they were really nice and understanding. They too were homeschooled. They have solution DVD's for correcting your work and it goes through and explains each problem step by step. It's awesome!

Aviod Saxon Math at ALL costs!! It's the worst math in the world. I suppose you could describe it as math with ADHD. It's TERRIBLE. I'm not the only one who thinks so; tons of homeschoolers hate it with a great passion.
