  1. The Sofitel in Chicago.

    or The Peninsula Hotel.

  2. The Palmer House.

Oh, and take the night off. It would be worth it.

  3. I suggest The Palmer House Hilton.  It is a nice hotel, convenient to the Mag Mile, shopping, etc. and it won't break your pocketbook.  Ask for the upgrade where you get free appetizers, drinks and breakfast.  It's a little more money, but it is worth it.  Have fun.

  4. definitly try The Sybaris http://www.sybaris.com/modules/main/defa...

    or www.sybaris.com

they allow you to get a hotel for like 4 hours it's very romantic all different kinds of suites. This is not in chicago but there are 3 locations around the area.  if not you can go to the Drake Hotel in chiacago ... very fancy .

  5. Sybaris is a "hook up" spot for couples who are members, so if "time" is your problem, maybe this is your spot (but I cannot vouch personal experience on this spot, only what I've read in the newspaper, where they mentioned "themed" rooms, s*x toys, plenty of in-room p**n channels, and so on). Otherwise it sounds a bit on the "sleezy" side of things for my tastes.

The Palmer House is overrated. It's a Hilton (so the service is good), but the accommodations are mediocre/merely adequate, esp. for an anniversary event. If you are strictly seeking a hotel room in which to crash, then the Palmer House is fine. Their lobby, though, is beautiful, but the lobby is not the room in which you stay. This isn't a diss on the Palmer House, but one could easily stay at a Day's Inn/Holiday Inn/Doubletree/Westin/etc. and have a similarly adequate/mediocre room.

I would suggest a less-known hotel called the Hotel Burnham, which is located across the street (catty-cornered) from the former Marshall Fields on State Street. It is a boutique hotel with beautiful rooms that are well-equipped and well-maintained with bathrobes, stylish furniture, and Aveda shampoos. Although the rooms are not the largest in the industry (but they are significantly bigger than a cruise-ship stateroom), they are _very_ comfortable (as are the beds and pillows). They are in the Kimpton chain of hotels. They have romantic packages as well-check their website for more information. This would be a MUCH better place to spend an anniversary than the more-pedestrian Palmer House Hilton.

  6. You can search and choose hotel information, rates and availability for free in over 200 countries world wide at my profile.

  7. Since its not that critical in terms of location, and you are extremely flexible - I'd bid on Hotwire or Priceline for a top hotel.  Other than that, if price isnt too much of an object, try a cool boutique hotel like the Sutton Place or the Allegro.  Maybe even the W hotel would be good.  Other cool places are the Allerton, Drake and the Fitzgerald  - all neat little boutique hotels.

  8. Go to Hotels.com. That's where I do all my booking for hotels. You can view pictures, read other customer reviews and know basically everything about a hotel before booking. Plus they're prices are cheaper then what you would find going through a hotel directly! But in my opinition. Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers is a great hotel with an option to have a great view of the city, or Navy Pier. I stayed they're for New Years of 08 and it was great!
