I need help finding a title of a zombie movie?

I liked the movie when I was younger and want to find it. Its a comedy/romance about a teenager in high school. He has a crush on a girl but never lets her know. He gets shot by a robber at someplace that resembles a 7/11. He dies but somehow he becomes a zombie. He always wanted to give the girl he likes a necklace. That's all I remember. Please does any of this sound familiar. It mimightbe a 80's or early 90's movie.
