I need help finding an STK394-160E for my Hitachi convergence problem.?

The Green and Purple in my Hitachi 43FD01b aren't going together and ruining the TVs picture. There is also a big bow at the top of the screen in 2 different colors: green and orange. Finally I found another question on yahoo answers that tells me how to fix it. however I need to know 4 things.

1. will an STK394-160E IC fix the TV??

2. Where can I buy an SK394-160e??

3. How much will it cost??

4. Will I need anything else??

First of all, why do think you need to replace that IC? Have you even tried to adjust the convergence? The only reason you would need to replace the IC is if the adjustment is inoperative. The TV also has a DCU (Digital Convergence Unit) that could be at fault. Also, there is no Purple and there's no Orange, there's just Red Green and Blue.

Bottom line, if you are asking these questions, you're probably not going to be able to unsolder and replace one of these ICs (STKs). They're a pain in the butt for a semi experienced tech, a novice will tear it up and then you'll be screwed because you can't get a new board any more.
