for a sociology project, our group has the topic of dating violence. we have to perform research to prove our thesis which is: if a man used drugs and alcohol than it will increase his raged violence on women. so any articles or statistics or any kind of website with that stuff would be GREAT. thanks!

  1. You may have to compare the use of drugs and alcohol as a cause of more traffic accidents, more suicides, etc.

For proving alcohol as an increased incidence of violence towards women, you may have to go to the court cases and choose 10 rape cases and see what percentage involved drugs or alcohol,.

You might contact womens shelters or womens groups dealing with violence towards women. (which may be on the internet)

  2. Agreed, YA is not the place to research university papers.

  3. Why, why why, must students post questions  on Y!A when you are looking for research articles on a topic. You will find very little reliable information on the internet relating to your topic. If you do use internet sites in your research paper that are not authoritative, your prof will simply shake his/her head and give you a poor grade.

GO TO THE LIBRARY at your school. If you are in college or uninversity the library has subscriptions to the most up-to-date research journals relating to your topic. Plus they have access to research databases, such as PsycInfo & Web of Science, where your can search for articles related to your topic. If you don't know how to research your topic ask the librarian.

  4. Maybe instead, your group should do a report on how, despite the fact that there are an abundance of women's shelters and men are the ones who are known for domestive violence, it is actually women who commit more than half of all domestic violence.
