I'm 14 years old and I am helping at a Summer dance camp.

Since only one teacher at my studio can tap ( and she is on summer vacation) I am teaching two tap classes.

The first one is ages 4-6 and the second class is 7-12. I have assisted a little kids tap class before so I know what I steps to teach them I just don't have any upbeat, childish songs for them to tap to.

If you have ANY songs that at all might help it would be greatly apprecitated.

  2. At our studio our kids tapped to "Yakety Yak" since our recital was 50's style. Our 7-9 group did a class practice to the Pink Panther Theme Song. We've done, "Singing in the Rain", "Rock and the Clock", and "Greased Lightning" for the boys. " Tuttti Fruity", Whole lot of Shakin' " for our 5-7 group. We did an advanced tap to a song from 42nd street but I don't the song, since it doesn't have words.

Hope I've gave you some ideas.

  3. Hello!! I hope that I can help you a little. Go down to your local library they should have music CD's that you can take out for two to three weeks.

Ideas for music for 4-6 yr old dance class-Barney, Dora, Sing Along Songs, Disney, Backyardians, Doodlebops, Etc.

Ideas for music for 7-12 yr old dance class Kids Bop, Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, High School Musical, Lastest Pop Songs, Etc.

I hope that I helped you out a little.

  4. awww what would be really cute is the 4-6 class doing it to the happy feet song. i cant remember what is called but its like jump and move and slide or something like that and it would work great. and i bet they would all know it too! if you hear the song u will know wut im talking about.

    Good Luck!

  5. for tap, i would do something more classic like rhythm of the Ritz by taco, or tutti frutti, come fly with me, something like that. they are easy to choreograph. for the 4-6 year olds, you could do cute songs like ones from sesame street or barney or veggie tales

    hope that helps :)
