    I also recommend getting "Tarantulas and Other Arachnids" by Samuel D. Marshall for a good read.  "The Tarantula Keeper's Guide" by Stan and Marguerite Schultz is even more informative, with lots of scientific info and helpful personal experiences from the authors.
