I need help finding the perimeter of a rectagle...?

well kinda...

i have a rectangle and the perimeter...

but i have to figure out how long each side is.

the numbers they give me are - 2x for one side and (x+3) for another.

if u could help me that would be great!!

  1. Here's a list of formulas. Use the one for perimeter and work out your answer.

  2. Perimeter = 2 * (length + width)

    With the perimeter(P)  given plug in the variables for the lenght and width and solve for unknown.

    P = 2 * (2x + (x+3))

       = 2 * (3x + 3)

       = 6x + 6

    P - 6 = 6x

    x = (P - 6) / 6

    Now plug in value of x to get value for each side
