I heard focus factor is okay, but I'm not entirely convinced it isn't the same as a bunch of multi-vitamins.

  1. Oh, by all means, no, it is not the same as a bunch of vitamins.  It has a particular grouping of herbs and such which also help with memory, etc.

Someone who is classified as ADD needs a good B-Complex, also called "Stress B," taken daily.  Also I would suggest definitely supplementing with 1,000 - 1,200 mg. calcium and 400 mg magnesium daily.  (This may seem high, but check the RDA for calcium.)  Calcium is needed for that unsettled, constant motion-type feeling, and magnesium is known as "the great relaxer."

I would suggest you contact some herbalists in your area.  Speak with more than one, and then apply whatever knowledge they all impart to you in unison.  You'll find some wonderful help there, which will help and nourish you physically and emotionally.  There are DEFINITELY alternative methods of treating ADD successfully.  You will be most pleased by what you find!

  2. my son-in-law uses Omega-3 supplements as well as good general nutrition and he also discovered that when he exercises regularly, he feels better, more focused, in tune etc.  He has gone from a serious drug habit to weight lifting and health conscious in about a years time and that has helped him tremendously.

  3. For natural help with ADD it would be heavy, heavy doses of Omega 3s (1 tablespoon of flax oil or fish oil a day plus 1 tablespoon of cod liver oil per day) you can put them in a smoothie or orange juice so the taste doesn't bother you. Also, an amino acid called Tyrosine (can get it at any health food store) will help you focus.
