  1. a) What does Concentrated mean?

To concentrate a solution, one must add more solute, or reduce the amount of solvent (for instance, by selective evaporation).

    b) Do you think many students at secondary school use concentrated acids?

I'm not quite sure if yes. But college and highschool students use that.

    c) Which acids are the safest?

Actually, there are no safe acids. But for me, citric acid is the safest.

    d) If colleges use diluted acids, is that a problem?

    No.

    e) Should students be careful with even dilute acids? Explain!

Of Course. Most acids mixed may explode.

  2. a) If the water content in an acid is nill or really less, we call it concentrated acid.

b)students do use con. acids in sec school.

    c) citric acid is considered as a safe acid.

d)not always you can work with diluted acid. sometimes the reactions do not happen unless u use a con. acid.

e)it depends on how dilute the acid is. u should be careful while working with acids anyway.

the other thing u have to keep in mind is that adding water to acids(in most cases) are exothermic reactions. so unless u r careful it may burn ur hands off. so make sure that u are aware of the whole procedure of diluting acids before u do that.

  3. a) high molarity...lots of acid, less water.

    b) no

    c) weak ones like vinegar...

    d) why the heck would they be

    e) Yes, they are still acids
