  1. I disagree with the above answer taking info from the site provided:

"Although the diversity of mtDNA may owe its origin to a single African female 200,000 years ago, the rest of our genetic material (about 400,000 times the amount of mtDNA) was inherited from many individuals who lived at the same time as that female. Some scientists argue that these individuals may have been spread over a wide area."

  2. I thought this question was already settled.

I think the regional thingy was an attempt to support the miss conception that white people are somehow special and did not rally come..."out of Africa" so to speak.

This attempt at bad science was debunked, some time ago. You may still find it being taught in some religious..."schools" but not in responsible universities. The exception is that some classes might be on comparative suppositions and would teach any idea accepted by almost anybody, as a function of covering the entire field of study.

I will give them credit for a nice euphemism...

    "regional continuity model"...indeed!

It sounds like the one where they told us that the US only fights for truth and justice.

The thing is...I never thought of natural rubber and crude oil as synonymous with either truth or justice.

  3. Statistical consistent with the complete replacement model. " Out of Africa. " Only anthropologists continue to argue about this. Science considers the question answered, unless some real evidence is presented by the " opposition. "
