Okay I don't get what its saying first of all

I sent a package from canada post, on august 31st.

After I went on the computer and went to canada post.com

to track a package. I typed the code in and it the info i sent.

and it says Service Standard Delivery Date: 2007/09/13 ? I don't get what that means and today i typed the code in again and it said 2007/09/08 09:55 SOOKE, BC Item out for delivery ? Omg Does the person need to go to the mail office and get it? or does the mail carrier give it to them? I don't get what that means. Item out for delivery? Ah i need some serious answers.

  1. I really don't see why you're so confused.

"Item out for delivery" is exactly how it sounds, the package has been processed and loaded onto a delivery truck ready to be delivered.

And no, the person does not need to go and collect it, hence the "out for delivery".

The delivery date shown is likely to be a simple estimated delivery date.

  2. The standard delivery date is the estimated delivery date, based on the published number of transit days between origin and destination postal codes.

When it changed to 2007/09/08, that meant the package had moved through the system and based on where its present location was, the new estimated delivery date.  Sooke BC was the last scan point and in this case, the likely destination terminal, from where the delivery would take place.

Out for delivery means the package has been loaded on the truck that will run the route to deliver the package.  Unless you specified General Delivery, which would be held at the local postal office, the package is routed for door delivery.
