Question:

I need help from an artistic person! Which linens should I use for my wedding?

The person who is catering my wedding told me that I can choose any linens from this website: www.bbjlinen.com

I am very excited about the idea of doing something colorful and different, but I'm not good at picturing what would look right together. The wedding is going to be in August, casual yet classy, about 150 people, indoors, with the focus on the band, fun and dancing! I know that I want my centerpieces to be vases of different sizes each filled with one type of hot pink flower, but different flower types in each vase. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

  1. Your caterer gave you too many choices!

I am assuming that your color is hot-pink for the Wedding?  If so, you will want to keep the look fresh for a summer event by coupling it with a celadon (light green), it's truly a spectacular look!  I would use white as a secondary accent color for a true pop.

However, since you are focusing on an evening clubby type atmosphere, I would go with rich chocolate linens, hot pink napkins, and hints of both throughout the decor.  It's sexxy yet elegant!

    Good Luck

  2. Depends on what kind of a person you are and whether the wedding is more subtle or very bold. Also what are the bridesmaids wearing.

If your centerpieces are predominantly hot pink then I'd say you get something that will highlight them not blend in such as: Pink Champagne Lamour, Apple green lamour or Gold Danube Damask, and then use hot pink napkins (if you want to be truly bold and match the napkin rings to the linens, or use the same color napkins as linens)

If your centerpieces are not very pink and you want to highlight hot pink then go with Cerise Lamour or Cerise Sparkle Sheer, you can then either tone everything down a bit by having white or apple green napkins (use green leaves in centerpieces then).

My wedding will be hot pink and pink as well... but I'm a bit more daring... I really love damask and would use it in my invitations with hot pink ribbons and if I had these options for linens, I would have picked the  Black Orleans Damask-Reversed as a runner, white linens underneath, and hot pink centerpieces and white napkins with hot pink organza favor bags on each plate.

    All the best :)

  3. Simplicity always shows elegance. I would stick to the Lamours.

edit: As a party planner, show style and elegance for your wedding. People will remember and respect this. To through a h**l of a reception all you really need is an open bar.

  4. I would actually stick with something simple and clean.  Since your centerpieces will be hot pink flowers, I would pick linens that highlight and compliment them as opposed to competing with them.

I'd stick with a neutral color and maybe to add texture choose something like the "Ivory Marquis Damask."  From there, use that hot pink color and maybe other complimentary colors to tie everything in your table together.  Do so with the napkins or even adding a table runner, which would look great under the hot pink roses against the clean tablecloth.

Try heading over to a fabric store or even some place like Bed, Bath and Beyond simply to try out different combinations of linens and colors.

  5. Black and white is always great with hot pink

    good luck!

  6. As long as you're not afraid to choose a more colorful and exciting theme, then I think the Cerise Lamour would be very striking!  Especially if the centerpieces will be a few hot-pink flowers mixed in with other flowers in different-shaped vases. As long as you use only a few of the hot-pink flowers as an accent to go along with the linens, I think it will be very pretty!

    Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
