Question:

I need help getting hired.

I've turned in applications and haven't really gotten any calls back and I think it has to do with what my applications have on them. I started working when I was 16 (about 3 years ago), and since that time I haven't held a job for more than 7 months or so. It's not that I was a bad employee, but I doubt that looks good on an application. One position was a lifeguard so of course it couldn't be long term, and my longest job ended because the company closed. I go to school full time so I'm there most of the day and can only work evening shifts, which doesn't seem to be what hiring companies are looking for. I would like to get a position that will let me potentially build up towards what I'm getting my degree in, which is accounting; but I need money so I would settle for a job that isn't as career-oriented. Any tips?

  1. I'm 23 and have the same problem.  If you are in a small town with more people than jobs, this will happen.  Sometimes I just give up.  20 applications in 2 days and nothing.  Not even an interview.

I try to steer clear of fast food because I feel it is unethical.  Seems that is what I may have to do though :(

Or join one of the military cults. haha

    Good luck.
