I need help getting my plasma tv from 480 standard def to 720p HD. I?

I am hooking my Xbox 360 up with HD cables but can't figure out how to get the TV to switch to HD. I have a Vizio JV50P and should be able to get a 720p picture but can't find any way to switch it from 480 to 720. I am using HD cables from the XBox and getting a picture but every time I push info it says the picture is in 480 standard. Does anyone know how to change it to HD?

The TV scales automatically its input to 720p.

There is nothing to do on the TV.

You need to go on the xbox settings and specify that you want 720p output.

Usually with your TVs' remote control you can change the picture format.  Exactly how it may be labeled on your remote may vary.  Usually it is labeled "format" or "screen".  Read your owner's manual. (if you have one)  It will give you detailed instructions.
