  2. you need to run your cam through a firewire cable into the firewire port of your computer (hopefully you have one) otherwise through plain usb you can only get stills. however if you cant get  a firewire port installed have a buddy convert your tape to a dvd download a cheap dvd ripper ( i use daniusoft) and you can put the dvd in the dvd rom and cut whatever you want out of the dvd or use the whole thing then when your ready convert the dvd file to a windows media video file and select open output after conversion leave your output folder open and drag each clip you wanna use to the collections panel in moviemaker you should be able to drag it down to the time line and do what ever you want so fire wire port or get a dvd and dvd ripper and covert the files good luck i hope this helps solve your problems

  3. You'll need to capture the video via firewire  - if your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.

Once everything's connected, switch the camcorder to play and you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker.
